Class of 2019 Farmer, Callie Yellin, Becomes NCAA Division II National Softball Champion!

Callie Yellin, a member of the Farmersville High School Class of 2019, hit the GAME-WINNING WALK-OFF HOME RUN for game one of the National Championship Series NCAA Division II. The Roger State Hill Cats went on to win the series, making them the NCAA Division II Softball Champions!

Callie was a varsity starting catcher as a Lady Farmer throughout her four years at FHS. She even switched to playing short-stop her senior year when her team needed a defensive shift. "Callie has always been a hard worker and an inspiration to her teammates. She understands softball culture and does what it takes for her team to reach the next level. Her passion and hard-working mentality are admirable, and she is proud to be a Farmersville Farmer," said Coach Paula Wilfong. "I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see this championship series in person. Watching our Lady Farmers grow and thrive in college as they continue playing next-level softball truly is a joy. I am so proud of Callie."

If there is anything we should take from Callie's success in college softball, it's that hard work, consistency, and perseverance pay off. You can be from a small town and still make a huge impact. Congratulations, Callie! Farmer Nation is proud of you and all your accomplishments.
