Farmersville Education Foundation

Since 2008, the Farmersville Education Foundation has awarded $846,615 in scholarships to 412 graduates of Farmersville High School. The Foundation proudly supports graduating seniors who plan to attend accredited colleges and universities, helping them take the next step in their educational journey.

The Foundation’s mission is to maximize opportunities for students by providing meaningful financial assistance as they pursue postsecondary education. The Farmersville Education Foundation proudly administers a diverse portfolio of local scholarships made possible through the generosity of community organizations, businesses, families, and dedicated supporters of Farmersville ISD. These opportunities include:

Scholarship Names

Each scholarship represents a meaningful investment in the academic achievement and future success of Farmersville High School graduates.

Each year, FISD seniors are invited to apply for scholarships, which are presented at the end of the school year prior to graduation. Awarded scholarships are payable to any accredited college or university and are disbursed in one lump sum at the beginning of the fall semester. Exceptions may be made for students who enroll during the summer or spring semester of their first year. All scholarship recipients are expected to write and mail a letter of appreciation and thanks to the donor from whom they receive scholarship funds.

The current Board of Directors includes the Mayor of Farmersville, Craig Overstreet; Kailyn Tedford; Jim Hemby; and Matt Crowder. The Board remains committed to seeking scholarship donations to positively impact the future of Farmersville ISD graduates.

Established in 1999, the Farmersville Education Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Its primary purpose is to assist, develop, and sustain charitable, educational, and scientific initiatives that benefit the Farmersville Independent School District and its students.

Scholarship Application Requirements:

1. Complete an online application form, save as a PDF document, and email to Mrs. Jill Cooper, Farmersville High School Counselor, at [email protected].

- - It is recommended that all applicants write out answers separately in a savable format (such as Google Docs) prior to completing the online application.
  - Also, please send your application with read receipt request activated in order to confirm the application was received by Mrs. Jill Cooper prior to the deadline.

2. The online application requires a personal statement. This statement should include:

- - Your reasons for pursuing a college education.
  - Your intended area of study and what attracted you to it.
  - How you have prepared yourself in high school to pursue a higher education.
  - Your view of your community.
  - Your view of yourself.
  - Your high school accomplishments. Please include your specific contributions to organizations or projects.

3. You will need two completed online recommendation forms. Please share the Google form link provided through your online application with your chosen recommenders. Two recommendation forms are required to complete your application.

- - One completed form from a teacher or school representative
  - One completed form from an employer or a community member outside of the school environment.

These forms will be automatically sent to the Farmersville High School Counseling office upon completion. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all forms have been received by the FHS office prior to the application deadline.

4. In order to apply for the Gladys Best Scholarship, applicants must complete the Gladys Best Scholarship letter prompt within the online application form. This is not a requirement for all other Farmersville Education Foundation scholarships.

5. To have a fully complete and submitted application, your Farmersville High School transcript must be included. By completing the Farmersville Education Foundation (FEF) scholarship application, you are authorizing FISD to attach your transcript to your completed FEF scholarship application on your behalf.

6. All scholarship recipients are expected to write and mail a letter of appreciation and thanks to the donor from whom they receive scholarship funds.

Application Submission Guidelines:

1. Incomplete scholarship packets will be disqualified.

2. All scholarship applications must be emailed and all recommendation letters received by Mrs. Jill Cooper, Farmersville High School Counselor, at [email protected].

3. No late submissions will be accepted. All scholarship application forms and recommendation letters are due by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

4. It is recommended that all scholarship applications be sent with sent with read receipt request activated in order to confirm the application was received by Mrs. Jill Cooper prior to the deadline.

5. All scholarship applicants are required to participate in an in-person interview with members of the Farmersville Education Foundation. This meeting will be scheduled by the Farmersville High School counseling office upon the receipt of your completed application. Please note: while all applicants are required to interview, not all applicants are guaranteed to receive a scholarship.
